Multi region adaptor BUT no CE mark (no earth) - A very well made adaptor that allows both to and from UK, Euro 2-pin, angled 2-pin, US 2-pin and, with the additional adaptor plate, to charge via a USB socket. This is a very good selling point which many others fail to address.The main downside is the lack of any CE marking, which is not surprising as there is no earth continuity, so should not be used where you have/need an earth connection.Mine has been recently condemned by my companies PAT (Portable Appliance Test)testing contractor so must be removed from company premises.In summary, they have made a very good adaptor but Swiss have failed to understand the need for earth connections, so have half done the design job, however it should be an easy job for them to correct on a future model.
Ingenious design and simple to use - Having purchased different travel adapters from airports all over the world, this adapter is by far the undisputed king. Every type of foreign plug is catered for and yet this ingenious adapter is only slightly larger than a match box. My previous adapters certainly worked abroad but there were far too many fiddly components involved and required a finalist from the Krypton Factor to try and fit it together. I admit, there is included with the Swiss travel adapter a small UK plug attachment to enable products fitted with a standard UK 3 pin plug to work abroad, but this is simplicity itself to attach. Also the adapters you buy from airports tend to be made from low grade plastics and will break under the stresses of travel. This adapter, on the other hand,is extremely robust and is built to last. My advice is buy the version that includes USB as it will help you charge your iPod, Tom Tom, mobile phone and other USB devices without having to use a computer USB socket. Any downside? Yes, the instructions included are written so small, that a magnifying glass is required. Having said that, the truth is, you don t really need the instructions (which are only a few lines anyway) as everything is self explanatory. Highly recommended. 10 stars.
